I didn’t realize, until now, that I was a fan such a big fan of Ricky Martin. This is my second posting about him in one week.

I am so excited that Fox’s “Glee” decided to include an openly gay Latino singer and father of two twin boys in the show. We know that he os player the role of a spanish teacher and has been in talks for the guest role since last November, and yesterday,  Martin tweeted a photo of himself at his first day at work. Ricky Martin is the  “hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio,” according to TVLine.com.

I have not had a working TV in my home for over 10 years now, but the ONLY show that I watch on streaming Hulu every week is “Glee!” I have more of a reason to watch it now– to see how they develop his character and if there will be any humor around sexual identity related to him.

The existence of Latino identity representation has been close to non existent on Glee with the exception of liberal humor around immigration issues and Latina cheerleader Santana’s role. (who happens to be a lesbian in the show too!)

And like my story the other day emphasized about all the rumors of Ricky marrying, he denies it all: ”We are not talking about it, we’re not thinking about it.”

According to CNN, “It sounds like Martin will be ready to expand his family before he’s ready to walk down the aisle though. Already dad to twin 3-year-old sons, he tells Latina that the boys should have a sister eventually.”

Ricky said, “I think that I’ll do it later on this year, so that [the kids] aren’t too far apart in ages… a little girl!…But we’re going to talk about that later on. It would be irresponsible to do it now.”

One of my goals is to engage Ricky Martin to do an opening and closing sequence for my film (kind of like a PSA) This way he can endorse my film and bring a wider audience to watch it. He is an inspiring figure and I am happy to watch this amazing person continue to develop his career in mainstream television.

I love that Ricky Martin es living la vida “como loca!” Woohooo!
